LIVING HISTORY

In memory of all who came before us and helped develop the skills and tactics we use today, we encourage all to respect the uniforms they wear and carry themselves in the up most professional manner.

There are many organizations who conduct living history events based on distance events of the past. We feel that it is just as important to pay homage to the present and future as well. In our efforts to do so we encourage all who attend our events to know their uniform and wear it in the appropriate manner.

However, please remember that some active military personnel do not enjoy seeing their patches and qualifications worn by those who have not earned them.

US Airsoft has developed some suggestions for uniform organization.

AIRSOFT TAB: The airsoft tab is a modification of the U.S.Army Airborne tab. It is worn on the left shoulder 1/2 inch below the seam.

POSITION TAB: The position tab is a modification of the U.S.Army Airborne tab. This tab denotes the position of the individual in the team. EX: SNIPER, MEDIC, SCOUT, LEADER, RANGER.

STATE PATCH: We encourage the development of a state patch to be worn on the left shoulder below the AIRSOFT and POSITION tabs.

U.S.FLAG (COLOR): This patch should be velcroed on the right shoulder 1/2 inch below the seam.

(REASON: Many times combat units will engage forces wearing similar uniforms and will find it hard to tell

friend from foe. The flag will would act as the only declaration of forces. This would replace the ribbon tied around the arm, and provide a more professional appearance.)

RANK INSIGNIA: To be worn in accordance with U.S.Army regulations. The center bottom of the rank is to point through the corner of the collar. If you aren't sure ask a vet.

MILITARY AWARDS: For those who earned awards in the military such as jump wings, pathfinder, etc... will be treated as cross branch awards and worn over the right breast pocket above the name tape.

AIRSOFT AWARDS: These awards will be worn over the left breast pocket above the team name tape.

USAIRSOFT NAMETAPE: Worn over the left breast pocket bearing U.S. AIRSOFT or your team name(EX: U.S. Airsoft or "Chandler Rangers").

NAMETAPE: Worn over the right breast pocket bearing the individuals last name or nickname.

TEAM PATCH: Worn centered on the right breast pocket.

EVENT PATCH: Worn centered on the left breast pocket.

NOTE: Each team should determine which uniform they will use and to maintain uniformity. The uniform can vary depending on environment.
